MARK YOUR CALENDARS! October 1, 2022, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Woods Without Gile – Springfield & Wilmot, NH
We are excited to welcome New Hampshire Tree Farmers to this well-managed forest. Owners Ann and Marc Davis named this 500+ acre property after the abutting Gile State Forest and have conducted four timber harvests there in the more than 20 years they’ve owned it, improving timber quality and enhancing habitat diversity.
This year’s Field Day will include a Wildlife Habitat and Woodland Access Tour with the Davises, along with their licensed forester Dode Gladders and wildlife specialist Matt Tarr, each from UNH-Extension. Also on hand will be Tim Fleury from UNH-Extension and Kyle Lombard from the N.H. Division of Forests & Lands who will conduct a tour that focuses on Emerald Ash Borer detection and bio-control.
Of course, we’ll also have the famous pig roast and chicken barbeque, raffle and silent auction, plus award presentations.
Cost to attend is $20/person, $5 for those under 18. N.H. Tree Farm inspectors may attend for no cost as a thank you for the work they do to support the N.H. Tree Farm Program, but still must register in advance.
